This striking vintage scarf has a tag that reads "Designed & Woven by Robert D. Sailors Belmont, Michigan". It has a beautiful rough weave to it but is made from very soft materials. The white and cream fibers are made of wool roving rather than anything that's actually been woven into a thread first. The black in the scarf is made from a wool string. There are also metallic gold strands woven into this scarf. This is 100% wool and metal. The scarf measures 40x9"
Sailors was born and lived in Michigan. His work is in the collection at the Art Institute of Chicago where he studied. More information can be found online.
