Vintage Pelikan 400 fountain pen, produced circa 195253. Original short-barrel 400 (not 400N or 400NN). Green striped cellulose acetate barrel with strong translucency; black acetate cap and section; gold-filled trim.
Correct early Pelikan script nib with circular cartouche, 14C 585, marked DEF, two breather holes, original ebonite feed. Nib tipping intact, no cracks or repairs observed.
Piston filler operates smoothly with a strong draw and full travel. Very good overall condition for age; no cracks, shrinkage, or brassing noted. All parts appear period-correct.
Test was written briefly with washable blue ink and thoroughly flushed afterward.
