This work was inspired by Eastern European folk tales and ethnic costumes.
It depicts a motif that looks like the Trojan Horse, which appears in the epic poem "Iliad."
The vivid pink of Rose Vif stands out against the white background, and the flower and heart motifs are also lovely.
It would also be wonderful framed.
Purchased in like-new condition from a major pawn shop that has been authenticated.
This is a beautiful item with no feeling of use.

Or is it the weaving of Penelope, the wife of Ulysses, who appears in the Odyssey?
While waiting for Ulysses' return, Penelope promised the suitors who gathered around her that she would choose one of them when the weaving she was weaving was finished.
The young queen devised a plan and unraveled the weaving she had woven during the day at night.
