Height 9” with lid 8” without lid on About Rouge Royale Rouge Royale is Carlton Ware’s signature oxblood / sang-de-boeuf–inspired lustre glaze Introduced mid-1920s Fired with metallic oxides to create: Deep ruby red Dark plum / almost black pooling Iridescent purple-blue highlights at curves and shoulders Every piece varies slightly, which collectors value highly Colour graduation—darker at the shoulder and lid, richer red on the body.
