This is a cut crystal inkwell with a silver top that is black at the very top. While the crystal is clean, the silver is dirty and tarnished, especially on the ring around the top and inside the lid. The silver is not marked, and I have no idea what the black on the top is made of.
The inkwell measures 1 7/8 inches wide on each side and each side is 1 5/8 inches tall. Height to the top of the lid is 2.75 inches.
The edges are beveled, and the inkwell has no chips, cracks, or other damage. The bottom is scratched up, but not too bad, and has one tiny fleabite or tiny chip which I did not photograph.
